Slow Art Day - Saturday, April 12, 2014

Come enjoy some art slowly at Gary Francis Fine Art. Slow Art Day is the global event with a simple mission: help more people discover the joy of looking at and loving art. It unlocks passion and creativity.

On this day every year people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly. Participants look at five works of art for 10 minutes each and then meet together over lunch to talk about their experience. That’s it. Simple by design, the goal is to focus on the art and the art of seeing.

2-5 pm, Saturday, July 26, 2014

Please note: The Gallery will be closed to the public at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 26. We will reopen on Sunday at 11:00 am.

Gary Francis Fine Art is pleased to host a special event for members of the Achenbach Graphics Arts Council during the “Redefining the Multiple” exhibition.

Several exhibiting artists, who work in a variety of, or combination, of printmaking mediums, in both 2-D and 3-D, will explore subjects ranging from the traditional to the abstract and discuss their achievements in traditional and innovative technical processes. This educational presentation will provide members and print collectors insight and unique perspective into the realm of the artists’ creative and technical process in several printmaking mediums, such as stone lithography, etching, relief, book arts, monoprinting, letterpress, screenprinting, and combo/hybrid printing. Attendees will also have an opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion with the presenting artists.
